Aden, 15 October, 2026 (Nosheen): Yemen’s Houthi group fired missiles at the presidential palace complex in the southern city of Aden on Thursday, killing two security guards, while the country’s prime minister and cabinet members remained unharmed, according to two government officials cited by Reuters. Yemen’s Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani said the Houthis fired five missiles at the Maashiq presidential palace complex, where the prime minister and cabinet members were present. The Houthi-run Saba News Agency, citing a military official, reported that the attack targeted a military operations headquarters operated by Saudi officers at the complex, as well as weapons depots. However, Reuters said it could not independently verify the claims. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the strike on what he described as a Saudi military operations headquarters in Aden was part of the group’s stated policy of targeting Saudi military build-ups wherever they are. Earlier, three witnesses told Reuters they had heard loud explosions near the palace complex. The attack comes amid escalating tensions involving Yemen’s Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognised government.
