Bodies of Three Pakistanis Killed in Somalia Reach Addis Ababa for Repatriation

ISLAMABAD, 4 October, 2026 (Kamran Raja): The bodies of three Pakistani nationals who died in Somalia have reached Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, as arrangements are being finalized for their repatriation to Pakistan. The repatriation process is being coordinated on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with authorities working to complete the necessary formalities. The bodies of Syed Kashif Umar, Ahmed Ansari and Rafiullah arrived in Addis Ababa and are expected to be transported to Karachi after the required clearances are obtained. Ethiopian Airlines officials are inspecting the coffins and reviewing the necessary arrangements before granting final approval for their onward transportation. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the relevant authorities to ensure the early return of the deceased and assured their families of all possible assistance. The prime minister also spoke by telephone with Azhan Kashif, son of the late Syed Kashif Umar, and expressed condolences over his father’s death. Authorities are maintaining close coordination with Ethiopian Airlines and other relevant officials to complete the remaining formalities and facilitate the transfer of the bodies to Karachi at the earliest possible time.
