
Lahore, 3 October, 2026 (Kamran Raja): The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested 13 suspected terrorists during 98 intelligence-based operations conducted across the province, according to a CTD spokesperson. The spokesperson said a suspected RAW-linked terrorist, identified as Wajid, was arrested in Pakpattan. The arrested suspects included Usman, Naeem, Abdul Mannan, Wajid, Osama, Hasan and Babar, among others. According to the CTD, explosive material, one hand grenade, three improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 12 detonators and 35 feet of fuse wire were recovered from the suspects. The department said 13 cases had been registered against the arrested individuals. During the current week, the CTD, in coordination with other law-enforcement agencies, also conducted 1,595 combing operations across Punjab, during which 55,416 people were checked and 52 suspects were arrested. The spokesperson said the CTD would continue intelligence-based and combing operations as part of efforts to maintain security and ensure a safe Punjab.
