Islamabad, 1 October, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Pakistan has said that security forces killed 22 terrorists in precision strikes targeting two militant hideouts at separate locations in Afghanistan. The Ministry of Information confirmed that the strikes targeted hideouts of militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, while a large quantity of weapons and ammunition at the sites was also destroyed. According to the ministry, the operation was conducted on the basis of confirmed intelligence with a high degree of precision, while maximum precautions were taken to protect civilians and prevent civilian casualties. The strikes were carried out as part of Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq, as Pakistan continues operations against terrorist hideouts and alleged safe havens in Afghanistan. The ministry said Pakistan faces a terrorism threat emanating from Afghanistan and expressed concern over the country allegedly continuing to serve as a centre for terrorism. It stressed that the safety and security of Pakistani citizens remain the government’s top priority, while Pakistan continues efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. The ministry further said that operations by security forces and law-enforcement agencies would continue under the vision of Stability and Resilience, adding that Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq would continue until terrorism allegedly supported by foreign elements is eliminated.
