Rawalpindi, 26 September 2026 (Kamran Raja): Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir and Saudi Defence Minister HRH Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz have reaffirmed their commitment to continuing joint efforts to counter attacks targeting the Kingdom under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two leaders discussed the recent security situation, including attacks targeting Makkah Al-Mukarramah and civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia. Both sides appreciated the outcomes of the meeting of Chiefs of Staff of countries participating in the Makkah pact and stressed the importance of coordinated efforts under the agreement. They also discussed regional security and defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The Saudi delegation included Minister of State and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Oyayri, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and Defence Minister’s Intelligence Affairs Advisor Professor Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif. Field Marshal Asim Munir was accompanied by a Pakistani delegation.
