QUETTA, 26 August 2026 (Kamran Raja) — Terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan are targeting innocent civilians and labourers in an attempt to undermine peace, development and economic prosperity in Balochistan.Five labourers were martyred and another was injured when armed terrorists opened fire on road construction workers in the Saranan area of Pishin district. According to police, the workers were targeted while carrying out road construction activities in the area. Initial reports said the labourers had come to Saranan to earn their livelihood and were also engaged in selling fruits. The attack is being viewed as an attempt to disrupt economic activities and development by creating fear and insecurity in the province. Attacks on commercial activities, transportation and development projects  could deprive the people of Balochistan of employment opportunities and economic benefits, according to experts.The terrorists have previously targeted innocent civilians in attempts to spread fear and panic in the region. Experts said that elements involved in terrorism were attempting to keep Balochistan deprived of development and prosperity by targeting soft targets and disrupting peaceful economic activities.The incident has once again highlighted the threat posed by terrorists to civilians, workers and development activities in Balochistan.
