Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day Celebrated with Flag-Hoisting Ceremony at Rawalpindi Cantonment Board


Rawalpindi, 14 August 2026(Kamran Raja): A dignified flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) office to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, with officials and employees expressing their love for the country, national unity and solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by Additional CEO Zia Hussain, Cantonment Board Member Zahid Bakhtawari, Secretary Cantonment Board Imran Habib, and a large number of officers and employees of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.


The national flag was hoisted during the ceremony, followed by the cutting of an Independence Day cake. Participants raised enthusiastic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pakistan Army Zindabad”, expressing their solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan.

Special prayers were offered for the forgiveness and elevation of the ranks of the martyrs of Pakistan, as well as for the security, sovereignty, development, prosperity and stability of the country.

The participants also expressed happiness and solidarity over the historic defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye signed in Makkah Mukarramah, describing it as an important development for enhanced mutual cooperation, defence solidarity and peace and stability in the region.

On the occasion, participants reaffirmed that Pakistan’s independence is the result of the unforgettable sacrifices of millions of people and that protecting this great blessing is the responsibility of every Pakistani.

Rawalpindi Cantonment Illuminated for Independence Day, As part of the Independence Day celebrations, major roads and important locations across Rawalpindi Cantonment were beautifully decorated with green-and-white and colourful decorative lights, adding to the festive atmosphere and celebrations.

Special prayers were also offered for Pakistan’s security, stability, progress and prosperity.

The participants reiterated their resolve to play their role in the country’s development and stability with a spirit of national unity, discipline, hard work and responsibility.
