Rawalpindi, July 23, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, interacted with participants of the 20th National Workshop Balochistan at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.
Addressing the participants, the Field Marshal emphasized that the consistent efforts of Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies, backed by the unwavering support of the people, would ensure lasting peace and stability in Balochistan. He reaffirmed that targeted operations against Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan would continue with full determination until terrorism and its facilitators are completely eradicated from Pakistan. He reiterated the country’s firm resolve to dismantle terrorist infrastructure wherever it threatens Pakistan’s security and its citizens.
The Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces underscored that foreign-sponsored proxy elements have persistently attempted to incite violence, undermine stability, and disrupt peace in Balochistan. He stated that such hostile designs would be defeated through the decisive response of the Armed Forces, supported by the resilience, unity, and patriotism of the people of Pakistan.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the province, the Field Marshal described Balochistan as the pride of Pakistan, blessed with abundant natural resources and a vibrant, resilient, and patriotic population that represents its greatest strength. He noted that the Federal and Provincial Governments are pursuing comprehensive development initiatives aimed at transforming the province’s socio-economic landscape through an inclusive and people-centric approach.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also commended the constructive contributions of civil society, academia, the media, and the youth in promoting national cohesion and supporting Balochistan’s long-term peace, stability, and prosperity. Stressing the importance of national unity and perseverance, he called upon all segments of society to work collectively for a stronger, more prosperous Pakistan.
The session concluded with an open and wide-ranging interaction, during which participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to Pakistan’s stability, progress, and sovereignty.
