
Islamabad, July 23, 2026(Kamran Raja): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday met a high-level delegation of Chinese company FAMSUN, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jack Chen, and welcomed the delegation to Pakistan.
The Prime Minister underscored that Pakistan and China are exemplary friends whose strategic partnership and economic cooperation continue to grow stronger with the passage of time. He emphasized that enhanced business-to-business collaboration between enterprises of the two countries would further reinforce the enduring Pakistan-China friendship.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed FAMSUN’s initiative to modernize Pakistan’s grain storage infrastructure by transforming existing storage facilities into state-of-the-art centers. He noted that the project would introduce advanced agricultural technologies, strengthen food security, improve storage efficiency, and promote commercial activity across the country.
The Prime Minister stressed that the development of Pakistan’s skilled workforce should remain an integral part of the project, calling for comprehensive training and capacity-building opportunities for Pakistani professionals and technicians.
Expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Government of Pakistan, FAMSUN CEO Mr. Jack Chen recalled his meeting with the Prime Minister during the latter’s recent visit to China. He said that the discussions during that meeting had paved the way for the company’s visit to Pakistan and ongoing consultations on practical initiatives aimed at enhancing the country’s food security.
Mr. Chen reaffirmed FAMSUN’s interest in supporting Pakistan through the establishment of modern grain storage facilities, technology transfer, and technical training programs.
During the briefing, the delegation informed the Prime Minister that FAMSUN would establish a demonstration center in Pakistan for the development of Green Silos, while existing storage facilities would be upgraded into modern, environmentally sustainable grain storage centers. The delegation further shared that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had already been signed between FAMSUN and the Green Pakistan Initiative to advance cooperation in this sector.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar, and senior government officials.
