Pakistan reaffirms enduring commitment to multilateralism, international law and peaceful settlement of disputes

Paris, 29 April 2026(Kamran Raja):Ambassador of Pakistan to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, delivered a keynote address at a conference hosted by the Rotary Club of Paris. Under the theme of “Pakistan in a Changing World”, the ambassador presented a comprehensive overview of Pakistan’s position and role in a rapidly transforming international order.

Ambassador Baloch underlined Pakistan’s geostrategic significance at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East, and its enduring commitment to multilateralism, international law and peaceful settlement of disputes. She stressed that in an era of compounding global crises ranging from terrorism, climate change to economic instability, dialogue and diplomacy were not merely preferred options, but indispensable imperatives.

The ambassador highlighed Pakistan’s active and positive role in efforts to de-escalate crisis situations and in UN Peacekeeping. She briefed the participants on Pakistan’s role as a mediator in the ongoing situation in the Middle East and reaffirmed Pakistan’s willingness to contribute constructively to all efforts for upholding peace and dialogue.

Ambassador Baloch spoke of Pakistan’s rich civilizational heritage, its youthful and dynamic population, and its economic trajectory. She also noted the country’s ongoing reform agenda and the significant opportunities it offers for trade and investment with France and the broader European community.

The event brought together members of the Rotary Club of Paris and distinguished guests from the French capital’s diplomatic, business, and civic community.
