Pakistan, China Reaffirm ‘All-Weather Strategic Partnership’ During High-Level Meeting

ISLAMABAD: 23 April 2026(Kamran Raja): H.E. Amb. Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today.

The Prime Minister was assisted by Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar, SAPM Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.

The Prime Minister conveyed his warm regards and best wishes for H.E. President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. Expressing satisfaction at the positive trajectory of Pakistan–China bilateral relations, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan takes great pride in its All-Weather Cooperative Strategic Partnership with China. He reiterated his resolve to continue working closely with the Chinese leadership to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation.

The evolving regional situation in the Middle East and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for peace and stability were also discussed during the meeting. The Chinese Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for receiving him and appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to further strengthening its iron-clad ties with Pakistan and elevating the relationship to new heights, as envisioned by President Xi Jinping.
