PVARA and Huawei Technologies Explore Cooperation on Cybersecurity and Digital Exchange Infrastructure


Islamabad, April 18, 2026(Kamran Raja): A senior delegation from Huawei Technologies called on Mr. Bilal Bin Saqib, Minister of State and Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), to discuss potential collaboration in the areas of cybersecurity and digital exchange infrastructure.

The meeting underscored a shared understanding that robust and resilient security architecture is essential for the sustainable growth and credibility of Pakistan’s emerging virtual asset ecosystem.

Discussions focused on Pakistan’s cybersecurity requirements for digital asset platforms, Huawei’s global expertise in cybersecurity assurance, cryptographic technologies, and compliance frameworks aligned with international standards. Both sides also explored how advanced cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data infrastructure can contribute to building a secure and efficient digital exchange environment.

Chairman Bilal Bin Saqib highlighted that Pakistan’s digital exchange infrastructure must be grounded in strong principles of cyber resilience, consumer protection, and regulatory integrity. He noted that PVARA aims to position Pakistan as a secure and innovation-driven jurisdiction for virtual assets in the region.

The Huawei delegation, led by Mr. Ahmed Bilal Masud, CEO of Huawei AI and Cloud Business, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda as a collaborative industry partner.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue technical-level engagements and explore structured cooperation mechanisms in the coming months.

The Huawei delegation also included Mr. Corey Deng, Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Officer for the Middle East and Central Asia, along with Mr. Adnan Adhami, Mr. Saad Saeed Talha, and Ms. Lydia Zhang.
