Bannu, 21 September 2026 (Kamran Raja): Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel who were abducted by unidentified individuals in Bannu have been found dead, police said. According to police, the bodies of Havaldar Ishaq and Sepoy Umar Hayat were recovered from the Telgai area of Bannu and shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The two personnel had reportedly been abducted a day earlier from the Saifan Kozi Khel Karam Garhi area. Police said an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the abduction and deaths, while the identities of the suspected perpetrators and their motive had not yet been established. The incident comes amid continued security challenges in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where attacks and targeted violence have periodically affected security personnel. Separately, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said security forces had killed 37 terrorists in large-scale ground and air operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and areas along the Afghanistan border. According to the ministry, intelligence-based operations were conducted in Kohat, Hangu and Thall, while nine terrorists were killed during operations in Kohat and Hangu on September 20. Security forces also targeted terrorist hideouts in the border region adjoining Afghanistan, destroying three hideouts belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij and affiliated groups, the ministry said.
