The first rains of winter in most parts of the country increased the cold.
The cold wave continues across the country, the first rain of winter has increased in Lahore, Sahiwal, Okara, Jhang, Shurkot, while clouds have also fallen in different areas of Balochistan including Quetta, Ziarat Pashin. In various cities of Punjab including Lahore, Sahiwal, Okara, Jhang, Nankana Sahib, Shurkot, Attock, Borewala, Sheikhupura, Mian Chanun, Kasur and Sangla Hill, the intensity of winter increased due to the first light rain of winter. On the other hand, in different places of Balochistan including Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Dera Bugti, the cold has increased due to light rain. The meteorological department has also predicted rain in Islamabad, Guliyat and other cities. On the other side, due to the situation of rain and snowfall in Balochistan, emergency has been imposed by the Provincial Disaster Management Department (PDMA). The duration has been extended. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), personnel and machinery have been dispatched to ensure traffic to the snowfall areas.
According to the officials, rescue force, supporting staff as well as PDMA officers have been ordered to remain in the offices at all times during the emergency situation. Staff and heavy machinery have already been sent to the targeted places to ensure access to the snow-covered areas of the province. Considering the situation, relief materials have also been sent to the respective areas as a precaution. The meteorological department has also appealed to the citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in this season.
