Pakistan Reaffirms Solidarity with Syrian People at UN Security Council

United Nations, August 21, 2025(Kamran Raja): Pakistan has reaffirmed its unwavering support for a sovereign, unified, and peaceful Syria while urging the international community to prioritize the alleviation of the Syrian people’s suffering. Speaking at the UN Security Council briefing on the situation in Syria, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, acknowledged the Syrian government’s efforts in dialogue, national cooperation, and regional outreach. NDMA’s High level Flood Alert on River Chenab

 National Emergencies Operation Center anticipated that Rain, wind and  thundershower with isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated in the catchment areas of River Chenab till 18th August 2024. Consequently, the Chenab River is expected to reach High to Very High level flows which may result in inundation in low lying areas & damage of infrastructure. All villages/towns or settlements near Marala, Khanki, Qadirabad,  especially along the flood plain, can be affected by increasing flows .
