Secours Islamique France Pakistan Mission proudly announces its successful Event of a vibrant and impactful celebration in observance of World Environment Day

French Ambassador along with SIF Orphan Children and their Families*. *French Ambassador said, ‘as an individual we all have to protect the environment and we have to make the wise choices to conserve our planet and we have only one planet, there is no planet B’* Islamabad, 4 June, 2024 – Secours Islamique France Pakistan Mission (SIF) proudly announces its successful hosting of a vibrant and impactful celebration in observance of World Environment Day 2024. Held on 4 June, the event witnessed the convergence of community members, dignitaries, and stakeholders to advocate for sustainable practices and environmental awareness. SIF hosted this event where *H.E. French Ambassador and his wife* participated along with SIF orphan children and their families, H.E. French Ambassador and his wife really enjoyed with the children. They distributed solar lamps and health and hygiene kits. They really enjoyed children’s performances and participation. Govt. Officials and dignitaries participated like Dr Sadia Kamal, Vice President, Press Club, Roomi Hayat, CEO IRM, and officials from Social Welfare Dept., Child Protection Buerue and others. *H.E. French Ambassador and his wife* mixed up with children and had photos with them. Themed "Drought, desertification and land degradation" the celebration emphasized the importance of individual and collective actions in safeguarding our planet for future generations. Through a series of engaging activities, participants were enlightened about crucial environmental issues such as land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience. Attendees were immersed in educational sessions aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable living practices. Moreover, they had the opportunity to receive Health & Hygiene Kits to promote personal well-being, as well as experience the benefits of renewable energy with the distribution of solar lamps. The event's cultural flair was further enriched by captivating performances, including a thought-provoking skit and a moving poem ‘Yeh sab ka geet hai’ It's everyone's song, both centered around the theme of World Environment Day 2024. Additionally, guests had the chance to explore locally crafted handicrafts and delicious food products by community, showcasing the rich diversity of the community. A notable highlight of the celebration was the esteemed presence of the French Ambassador His Excellency Nicolas Galey, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His participation underscored the international significance of environmental conservation and underscored the event's commitment to global collaboration in tackling environmental challenges.
