Islamabad, 02 September 2026(Kamran Raja): The first session of the two-day meeting of the Research Proposal Committee of the Department of Mass Communication, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), was held today, Wednesday, to review the research topics and proposals submitted by students.
During the first day of the meeting, eight students presented their research synopses before the committee. The experts conducted a detailed academic and research-based review of the proposed topics and provided students with valuable guidance on various aspects of their research.
The meeting was attended by External Subject Expert Professor Dr. Shabbir Hussain, Internal Expert Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Mir, Chairman, Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Bakht Rawan, along with faculty members of the department.
The experts critically evaluated the research topics and synopses presented by the students and offered recommendations regarding topic selection, research methodology, formulation of research questions, and other important academic and methodological aspects.
The committee members emphasized the importance of selecting relevant and researchable topics and adopting appropriate research methodologies to ensure the academic quality and credibility of the proposed studies.
The two-day meeting will continue with further presentations and detailed deliberations on students’ research proposals.
