
Rawalpindi 09 April 2026(Kamran Raja):In line with the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, Rawalpindi Police has placed the city on high security alert to ensure comprehensive and foolproof arrangements during the arrival and movement of foreign delegations.
Extraordinary security measures have been implemented across the city. Senior officers including CPO Rawalpindi, DPO Chakwal, DPO Murree, SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, Chief Traffic Officer, Divisional SPs, SDPOs, and other officials are personally present in the field, supervising security duties.
More than 5,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed, with over 350 special pickets established. Strict monitoring is being carried out at all entry and exit points of the city, while additional personnel have been deployed on major highways.
A high-level meeting chaired by the CPO Rawalpindi was held at Police Lines Headquarters, where directions were issued to ensure foolproof security at all costs. The meeting was attended by senior police officials from across the region.
Elite Force, Dolphin Force, police mobile units, and other quick response teams are on high alert and actively patrolling the city.
Due to security concerns, certain key routes, markets, shops, and hotels have been temporarily closed, with strict surveillance and security deployment in place. Additionally, bus terminals have been temporarily shut down, and strict checking mechanisms have been enforced at all entry points.
Search, sweep, combing, and intelligence-based operations have been intensified across the city, with strict monitoring of suspicious individuals. Security around sensitive installations, key public and private locations, and residential areas has been further enhanced.
The Safe City system, CCTV cameras, and modern technology are being utilized for 24/7 monitoring, with real-time situation reports being reviewed continuously from the control room.
A special traffic plan has also been devised to maintain smooth traffic flow, with alternative routes provided for the convenience of citizens.
CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani stated that all available resources are being utilized to ensure foolproof security and the protection of life and property of citizens.
