LAHORE, 29 August, 2026 (Kamran Raja): The Punjab Assembly Secretariat has issued the agenda for the provincial assembly session scheduled to be held on August 31 at 2:00 p.m. under the chairmanship of Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan. The session will begin with the recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat and the national anthem. According to the agenda, relevant provincial departments will respond to lawmakers’ questions regarding housing, urban development and public health engineering. Oral replies to calling-attention notices included in the agenda will also be presented before the House. Members will also move and debate adjournment motions concerning various provincial departments during the session. The annual reports of the Ravi Urban Development Authority and the Lahore Central Business District Development Authority for the year 2022-23 will be laid before the assembly.
In addition, annual reports of the Punjab Danish Schools and Centres of Excellence Authority and the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board for different years will also be presented. The agenda further includes five bills for consideration and approval following recommendations from the relevant standing committees. The bills include the Punjab Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (Amendment) Bill 2026, Punjab Judicial Academy (Amendment) Bill 2026, Punjab Food Safety Laws (Amendment) Bill 2026, Anti-Terrorism (Punjab Amendment) Bill 2026, and the Punjab Assets Management Authority Bill 2026. The Punjab Assembly is expected to deliberate on the proposed legislation and other agenda items during the session.
