
Rawalpindi, February 27, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) today, where he was given a comprehensive briefing by the military leadership on the prevailing situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
During the visit, the Prime Minister was apprised of security developments along the border and the measures being undertaken to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan will adopt a policy of zero tolerance towards the nexus between Fitna Al-Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban regime, as well as their subversive activities. He stated that hostile actions against Pakistan by the Afghan Taliban regime and Fitna Al-Khawarij are unacceptable.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces, under the leadership of Syed Asim Munir, Field Marshal, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, remain fully prepared at all times to defend the country.
He underscored that Pakistan knows well how to defend itself against any aggression.
The Prime Minister also commended the professional capabilities of the Armed Forces for successfully repulsing attacks in border areas and carrying out an effective and robust response.
He concluded by stating that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the Armed Forces in safeguarding the homeland.
