Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar
13th October 2025(Kamran Raja): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, today in Sharm El-Sheikh on the occasion of the Gaza Peace Summit.
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed the strong and historic bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar and expressed a shared commitment to further deepening Pakistan-Qatar cooperation in various sectors.
The Prime Minister praised the Amir of Qatar for his steadfast leadership, diplomacy, and cooperation with other brotherly countries, which resulted in the signing of a historic peace agreement in Sharm El-Sheikh today. Additionally, the Prime Minister commended Qatar’s continuous efforts to find a just and lasting solution to the Gaza crisis. Regarding the peace agreement, which has given millions of Palestinians hope to restart their lives and rebuild, the Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s longstanding stance in support of establishing an independent, viable Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. He also reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
The Amir of Qatar thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s solidarity and principled stance on Palestine and expressed hope that the international community’s sustained focus would contribute to bringing lasting peace and stability to the region.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact on regional and international issues of mutual concern. This is the fourth meeting between the two leaders in the past month, including the Prime Minister’s two visits to Doha in September and their meeting in New York on the occasion of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
