
Islamabad: 9 January 2026(Kamran Raja): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met a delegation of the renowned UAE-based Sajwani Group in Islamabad today. The meeting underscored the steady progression of long-standing fraternal relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates towards deeper economic cooperation and increased investment. The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan and the UAE share deep-rooted, enduring, and brotherly relations founded on mutual trust and respect. He noted that the recent visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan further strengthened bilateral partnership and created a conducive environment for expanding cooperation. Expressing satisfaction over recent high-level engagements and exchanges, the Prime Minister said these interactions have enhanced mutual confidence between the private sectors and investors of both countries, providing a strong foundation for expanding economic collaboration.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Government of Pakistan attaches special importance to business-to-business (B2B) cooperation in the fields of information technology, digital innovation, blockchain, and other emerging technologies. He welcomed the growing interest of Emirati investors in Pakistan’s digital economy. He further noted that the UAE’s strengths in investment, innovation, and global connectivity, combined with Pakistan’s human resource potential, constitute a highly beneficial partnership for sustainable economic growth. The Sajwani Group delegation reaffirmed its commitment to further cooperation and exploration of investment and economic partnership opportunities in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that with strong support from the political leadership of both countries, enhanced private sector collaboration would elevate Pakistan–UAE economic cooperation to new heights. The delegation of the UAE’s Sajwani Group thanked the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to them in Pakistan. Later, the Prime Minister hosted a luncheon in honor of the visiting delegation.
