
March 24, 2026(News Desk): According to sources Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to review the evolving regional security situation and Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts. The meeting was attended by senior military leadership and federal ministers. During the meeting, participants discussed Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at facilitating the resolution of the Iran–United States conflict, including the possibility of hosting negotiations in Pakistan. The proposal to host talks for the resolution of the broader Gulf conflict was also considered. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar briefed the participants on Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach so far. He highlighted his recent engagements and contacts with the foreign ministers of Egypt, Türkiye, and other countries as part of efforts to promote dialogue and de-escalation.
According to sources, the Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan will continue its diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. He stated that Pakistan is ready to host negotiations if all concerned parties agree. He also welcomed the growing international recognition of Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating peaceful conflict resolution. The Prime Minister is also expected to take President Asif Ali Zardari into confidence regarding developments related to potential Iran–United States negotiations. A key meeting between the Prime Minister and the President is expected later today at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, where the current regional situation will be discussed in detail.
