Islamabad, 12 August 2026(Kamran Raja): President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday received the credentials of Ambassador-designate of Italy Ugo Ciarlatani and Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Korea Han Sungho at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The President congratulated the two envoys on their appointments and expressed confidence that their diplomatic assignments would contribute to further strengthening Pakistan’s relations with Italy and the Republic of Korea.
During his interactions with the ambassadors-designate, President Zardari emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in a range of areas of mutual interest.
He particularly highlighted the need to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, technology and development, while exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial engagement between Pakistan and the two countries.
The President expressed hope that the incoming ambassadors would play an active role in deepening bilateral ties and promoting greater economic, technological and people-to-people exchanges during their respective tenures.
The presentation of credentials marks the formal beginning of the ambassadors’ diplomatic assignments in Pakistan.
