Pakistan U18 Volleyball Team Arrives in Islamabad After Winning Bronze Medal in the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship  

Islamabad, 6th August 2024  

The Pakistan U18 Volleyball Team returned home today after an outstanding performance in the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship, held from 28th July to 4th August 2024. The team, who secured the Bronze Medal, was warmly received at Islamabad International Airport by Ch Muhammad Akram, Secretary of the Islamabad Volleyball Association, Ehsas Iqbal, Assistant Coach of the Pakistan Volleyball Team, and Rana Waseem, Assistant Coach of the Pakistan Women's Team.

Following their arrival, the team and officials had a meeting with the Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB). The DG PSB praised the players for their remarkable achievement at the international level, acknowledging the dedication and hard work that led to their success. He emphasized the importance of their accomplishment in elevating Pakistan's status in the international volleyball arena and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in future competitions.

The team's performance in the championship was particularly noteworthy, as they emerged victorious against Japan in the battle for third place, securing a decisive 3-0 victory with set points of 25-13, 25-21, and 25-17. This victory not only earned them the Bronze Medal but also qualified them for the upcoming World Championship, marking a significant milestone for Pakistani volleyball.

The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) expressed its pride in the team's achievement and gratitude to everyone who supported and contributed to the team's success. Special recognition was given to the coaching staff, particularly Saeed Ahmed Khan, Head Coach of the Pakistan U18 team, for their strategic guidance and support. Additionally, the PVF acknowledged the tireless efforts of its Chairman, Ch Muhammad Yaqoob, who has been instrumental in promoting volleyball in the region.
