Pakistan, Kuwait Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation in Petroleum Sector

Kuwait, December 15, 2025(Kamran Raja): Federal Minister for Petroleum of Pakistan, Ali Pervaiz Malik, held a high-level meeting in Kuwait with H.E. Mr. Tariq Sulaiman Al-Roumi, Minister of Oil of the State of Kuwait, to discuss matters of mutual interest and to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the petroleum sector.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the CEO of KUFPEC, along with senior members of their respective management teams. The Pakistani delegation comprised Mr. Ahmed Hayat Lak, Managing Director of Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), and the General Manager (Supplies) of Pakistan State Oil (PSO).

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik underscored that the relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait is deeply rooted in mutual respect, trust, and decades-long cooperation, particularly in the petroleum sector. He highlighted Pakistan’s keen interest in further expanding collaboration with Kuwait across various segments of the energy value chain.

During the discussions, both sides reviewed the longstanding and friendly cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait in the petroleum sector. A range of areas for enhanced collaboration were explored, with emphasis on strengthening existing partnerships and identifying new avenues for cooperation across the petroleum sector.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening bilateral ties and agreed to maintain close coordination to advance shared objectives in the petroleum sector, building on the strong foundation of cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

Following the meeting, the Honourable Minister of Oil of the State of Kuwait hosted a luncheon in honour of the visiting Pakistani delegation at the Waldorf Astoria, Kuwait.
