
New York, 1 August 2026 (Kamran Raja): Pakistan has taken another step towards promoting sustainable industrial development as senior Pakistani diplomats held discussions with global industry leaders to explore collaboration in textile recycling and the circular economy. Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, H.E. Mr. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, accompanied by Consul General Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai and Trade & Investment Counsellor Mr. Adnan Mahmood Awan, met with the Chief Executive Officer of Tsuzuki Spinning Company and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sol de Janeiro in New York.
The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation in textile recycling, sustainable manufacturing, and the circular economy, particularly in light of emerging United States regulations encouraging environmentally responsible textile production and recycling. Representatives of Tsuzuki Spinning highlighted Pakistan’s strong potential to become a regional hub for textile recycling, citing the country’s well-established textile industry and growing opportunities in sustainable manufacturing. The company also announced plans to undertake a feasibility visit to Pakistan to explore potential investment and partnership opportunities.
Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating sustainable investment and promoting environmentally responsible industrial growth. He assured the visiting executives of the Government of Pakistan’s full support in fostering collaboration in textile recycling and green technologies. Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement and work towards strengthening cooperation in recycling technologies, sustainable textile production, and investment initiatives that contribute to economic growth while supporting environmental sustainability.
