ISLAMABAD, 8 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday inaugurated the newly established Command, Control, Communication and Coordination Centre of Islamabad Police, describing it as a major step towards modernising policing, strengthening command structures and improving law and order in the federal capital. The centre will provide the Islamabad Inspector General (IG) with a centralised platform to directly monitor and command Safe City operations, police activities, field force deployment and emergency response mechanisms from one location. Speaking at the inauguration, Mohsin Naqvi said the integration of major operational systems through a central command and control platform would enable real-time monitoring, faster decision-making and immediate response during emergencies and security-related incidents. He said the use of artificial intelligence and modern technology would help improve police performance, response times, monitoring and accountability. During his visit, the interior minister inspected various sections of the centre and reviewed its command and monitoring systems. Officials briefed him on the integrated platform connecting Safe City operations, police activities, field force monitoring, emergency response systems and AI-based technologies. Mohsin Naqvi said the new facility would enhance communication and coordination among different police units while ensuring timely information sharing and effective operational decisions. He emphasised that the protection of citizens, improved police performance and maintenance of law and order in Islamabad remained among the government’s top priorities. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, senior police officers and other relevant officials.
