A meeting on the current situation of the country’s economy was held today in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar. In the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed about the recent figures of the country’s economy and possible strategies to stabilize the economy. The meeting was also attended by prominent people from Pakistan’s business community and industrial sector, who assured the prime minister of their full support for the stability of the country’s economy. In the meeting, the Prime Minister strictly instructed the concerned authorities to prevent smuggling from the country. In addition, the Prime Minister instructed the Customs and Immigration officials in the meeting to provide all facilities to the overseas Pakistanis. The Prime Minister was also apprised of the current status of barter trade with Iran.
In the meeting, caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, caretaker Commerce Minister Gohar Ijaz, caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, caretaker Information and Broadcasting Minister Murtaza Solangi, advisor to Prime Minister Ahad Cheema, Governor State Bank Jameel Ahmed, Chairman FBR Malik Amjad Zubair Tiwana, Federal secretaries and senior officers of related institutions were also present.
The meeting was also attended by leading private sector industrialists.
