Maiden Pakistan-China Fashion Show Held at the Great Wall of China
Beijing, 19 October 2025:(Kamran Raja): The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, in collaboration with China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), hosted the first-ever Pakistan-China Fashion Show at the iconic Great Wall of China (Badaling section) today. The landmark event brought together renowned designers, diplomats, business leaders, media representatives, and cultural figures from both countries in a vibrant celebration of creativity and friendship.

Prominent Pakistani designers including Maheen Khan, Moazzam Abbasi, Ayesha Tariq, Rizwaullah, and Zain Hashmi showcased stunning collections inspired by a fusion of Pakistani and Chinese fashion aesthetics. China-based Pakistani designer Aqeel Chaudhary also presented an exquisite jewelry line, while acclaimed Chinese designer Ms. Liang Suyun added a unique local touch to the runway. The show was curated by Mr. Adnan Ansari of Riwayat, ensuring a world-class fashion presentation against the breathtaking backdrop of the Great Wall.

Speaking at the occasion, Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, described the Great Wall as a “majestic and symbolic venue” to celebrate the living spirit of the ancient Silk Road, now reimagined as a modern bridge of fabric, art, and friendship. He highlighted the special significance of the event, which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the first Pakistani dignitary’s visit to Badaling.

“This fashion showcase reflects fusion, commercial sense, and the strength of Pakistani fashion. It demonstrates the natural synergy between Pakistani creativity and the Chinese market building new commercial bridges for a shared future,” the Ambassador remarked.

Chairman Long Yuxiang of CICCC underscored the fashion show as a milestone in cultural exchange between Pakistan and China. He emphasized the shared historical heritage and the mutual aspiration to enrich people-to-people ties through art, culture, and fashion.

“This event vividly reflects the China-Pakistan All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership in the cultural sphere. Together, we can inject new vitality into fashion aesthetics, blending tradition with modern expression,” Mr. Long said.
