PARIS,5 September, 2026 (Ghufran): Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Luis Enrique has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the French club until 2030, the Ligue 1 giants announced on Friday.The Spanish coach’s previous contract was set to expire at the end of the current season. However, PSG have now secured his long-term future as part of the club’s plans for continued success in domestic and European competitions. The announcement came ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 fixture against Monaco at the Parc des Princes. Alongside Luis Enrique, five players — Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo and Senny Mayulu — also signed contract extensions.PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said the players and the coach represent the present and future of the club’s project. “Together, we’re aiming to build for the long term, to remain true to our values, and to continue writing a story that our supporters can be proud of,” he said.
Luis Enrique, accompanied by the five Champions League-winning players, received a warm reception from PSG supporters at the Parc des Princes following the contract announcement.However, PSG suffered a 2-1 defeat against Monaco in the match, leaving the defending French champions without a victory after three matches of the new Ligue 1 season. Speaking after the game, Luis Enrique acknowledged the significance of his extended stay at the club. “It is not the best moment to talk about this, but what I can say is that it is the first time in my career, and I am an old coach, in which I have stayed more than three years in the same club,” said the 56-year-old Spaniard. Luis Enrique will now continue his tenure at PSG with the club aiming to maintain its dominance in France while strengthening its position among Europe’s elite.
