KOHAT, 01 September 2026(Kamran Raja): Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, visited Kohat today and addressed a police darbar, where he heard the individual and collective concerns of police officers and personnel and issued directives for their timely resolution.
Upon his arrival at the Kohat Police Club, the IGP was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out police contingent. He also visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, laid a floral wreath and paid tribute to the supreme sacrifices of police martyrs.
A police darbar was subsequently held at the Kohat Police Club, where Regional Police Officer Kohat Region Irfan Tariq, DPO Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, DPO Hangu Tariq Habib, DPO Karak Imran Khan and other senior police officers and a large number of personnel were present.
RPO Kohat Region Irfan Tariq, in his welcome address, highlighted the operational readiness and commitment of Kohat Region Police despite the challenging circumstances. He said the police force remained fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens, maintaining peace and continuing the fight against terrorism without hesitation.
During the police darbar, officers and personnel from traffic police, district police and various other branches directly presented their problems, suggestions and demands to the IGP. Zulfiqar Hameed listened to their concerns individually and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers for their prompt resolution.
Addressing the gathering, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is playing the role of a frontline force in the fight against terrorism, while its brave personnel confronting terrorists and criminal elements in the field are a source of pride for the entire force.
He said effective measures were being taken to further enhance the professional capacity of the police force. Special attention was being given to providing police personnel with modern facilities, resources and professional training to enable them to perform their duties more effectively.
The IGP said the welfare of police personnel and resolution of their problems remained among his top priorities. He paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered by KP Police personnel for the establishment of peace and said these sacrifices would never be forgotten.
He directed officers and personnel to ensure courteous behaviour with citizens and to deal with the public strictly in accordance with merit and law. He also emphasized that citizens’ problems should be addressed on a priority basis and that efforts against crime and terrorism should be further strengthened.
Later, Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed participated in a luncheon with police personnel. He sat with the officers and personnel, shared the meal with them and interacted informally with the force.
Appreciating the services and sacrifices of the police personnel, the IGP said that the police force is like a family and the welfare of its personnel, along with the resolution of their problems, remains a key priority.
He said KP Police personnel continue to perform their duties with courage and dedication under extremely difficult circumstances to protect the country and its people.
