Israeli Strike on Gaza University Kills Three; Four More Palestinians Killed in Separate Airstrikes

Gaza, October 25, 2026 (Ghufran): An Israeli strike on a university in Gaza City killed three people on Sunday, while four other Palestinians were killed in separate airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to hospital staff and the civil defence agency. Al Shifa Hospital said it received three bodies and treated eight people wounded in the drone strike, while sources at the Islamic University said those killed were administrative staff and the injured were students. Gaza’s education ministry said students were attending classes at the time of the attack, condemning the strike and warning that international silence over attacks on educational institutions was encouraging further violence. The ministry said 95 per cent of academic institution buildings had been damaged during the war and that 10 students and educators had been killed by Israeli fire over the past six days. Gaza civil defence spokesman Mahmoud Bassal said four additional Palestinians were killed on Sunday, including two in Khan Younis, one in Deir al Balah and another in the northern Gaza Strip. Earlier this week, Israeli strikes and gunfire killed at least four people in the territory on Thursday. Despite a ceasefire that has been in effect for more than a year, Israeli attacks have continued across Gaza. According to Gaza health officials, at least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes since the truce, while Israel has reported the deaths of four soldiers. Palestinian authorities say more than 74,000 people have been killed in Israel’s assault on Gaza. The Israeli military said it was investigating reports of the university strike when contacted for comment.
