LONDON, 28 August, 2026 (Ghufran): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met UK Minister of State Stephen Doughty in London on Friday to discuss Pakistan-UK bilateral relations and cooperation in key areas of mutual interest. During the meeting, Ishaq Dar welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral ties and stressed the importance of sustained engagement to further strengthen political, economic and institutional linkages between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. The two sides discussed ways to enhance trade and investment, expand cooperation in emerging sectors, strengthen climate cooperation and promote cultural exchanges. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the valuable contribution of the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom, describing it as an important bridge between the two countries. The two sides also exchanged views on key regional developments, particularly the situations in the Middle East and Afghanistan, and underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and continued engagement to promote regional peace and stability.
