Iran Hosts Talks with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye on Regional Security

TEHRAN, 26 October, 2026 (Ghufran): Officials from Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye have begun quadrilateral talks in Tehran to discuss regional cooperation, security and stability, as well as what Iranian state media described as US-Israeli aggression against Iran and its consequences. Iran’s state broadcaster, IRIB, reported that the meeting was underway and released a video showing Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi seated alongside Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and security chief Mohsen Rezaei. Earlier, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that Field Marshal Munir was visiting Tehran but did not provide further details about the visit. Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency quoted Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran’s top security body, as saying that the visit was part of efforts to advance the concept of endogenous security in West Asia. Kani also told Iranian state television that the visiting dignitaries would include Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and Türkiye’s intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin. The talks come amid heightened regional tensions and are expected to focus on cooperation among the four countries on regional security and stability, although no further details about the discussions or any outcomes were immediately available.
