Islamabad, 3 August 2026 (Kamran Raja): Director General Immigration and Passports, Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, chaired an important meeting to review the proposed establishment of the Passport Central Command & Control and Cyber Security Center, aimed at strengthening digital governance, enhancing cyber security, and delivering secure, modern, and high-quality passport services to citizens.The meeting discussed the proposed project in detail, highlighting its role in modernizing passport operations through advanced digital infrastructure. The initiative is designed to improve operational efficiency, strengthen cyber security, and provide better services to both domestic and overseas Pakistanis.

Participants reaffirmed their commitment to the vision and directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, emphasizing the rapid digitalization of passport services, improvement in public service delivery, and the provision of enhanced facilities for Pakistanis living at home and abroad.The proposed Central Command & Control and Cyber Security Center will integrate all key passport operations and digital services onto a unified platform, enabling centralized monitoring, operational control, enhanced cyber security, faster decision-making, and service delivery in line with international standards. During the meeting, the Director General directed that the proposed center should include several key components, including a Central Call Center, an Integrated Data Center, a Centralized Online Passport Application Processing System, Network Operations and Infrastructure Monitoring, SHIKRA (Secure Hybrid Intelligence for Knowledge, Response and Analysis), a state-of-the-art Digital Board Room equipped with real-time monitoring and decision-making capabilities, and a fully integrated system for passport printing, dispatch, delivery, tracking, and monitoring.

Mr. Randhawa also instructed the teams responsible for databases, software development, network operations, cyber security, and policy to review the proposed framework and submit their recommendations. He stressed that the new system must be secure, resilient, efficient, and future-ready to ensure the provision of world-class passport services, safeguard Pakistan’s national digital infrastructure, and provide citizens with the highest standards of service.
