Islamabad, 0August , 2026 (Kamran Raja): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will depart for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan tonight to participate in the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem, scheduled to be held in Amman on August 5, 2026, at the invitation of Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al Safadi. The ministerial meeting will bring together foreign ministers from the Arab League and a group of Islamic countries, including Pakistan, to formulate a unified position on the rapidly deteriorating situation in occupied Jerusalem.
During the visit, the participating foreign ministers will also call on His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. On the sidelines of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is expected to hold bilateral meetings with participating foreign ministers to exchange views on regional developments, particularly the situation in Palestine, as well as other issues of mutual interest. Pakistan’s participation in the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem reflects its principled and unwavering support for the Palestinian people. The country remains firmly committed to the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. Pakistan has consistently called for a just, comprehensive, and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and international law.
