Islamabad,15 August 2026(Kamran Raja): Daniyal Ijaz secured the title in the Singles Final of the Marka-e-Haq Azadi Cup Tenpin Bowling Championship 2026, organized at Leisure City Bowling Club, Safa Gold Mall, Islamabad.
Daniyal delivered a consistent performance over three games, accumulating 518 points with an average of 172.67 to claim the championship title. Faheem secured second position with 514 points and an average of 171.33, while Zeeshanfinished third with 513 points, averaging 171.00.
The closing ceremony was attended by prominent national and international dignitaries. Ms. Natalie A. Baker, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Afnan Mishalattended as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ijaz Ur Rehman, President of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, thanked the distinguished guests for attending the championship and appreciated the efforts of the organizers, players and officials.
Ijaz Ur Rehman highlighted the considerable potential of Pakistani youth in tenpin bowling and called for greater cooperation between Pakistan and the United States to promote the sport. He emphasized the importance of sharing technical expertise, improving bowling facilities and providing talented Pakistani athletes with opportunities to gain international exposure.
In her address, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker congratulated the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation on successfully organizing the national championship. She appreciated the commitment to developing tenpin bowling in Pakistan and expressed support for initiatives aimed at promoting the sport and encouraging young athletes.
She further highlighted the role of sports in bringing people and nations closer together, noting that sporting exchanges can serve as an important bridge between Pakistan and the United States.
Following the speeches, Chief Guest Ms. Natalie A. Baker and Guest of Honour Ms. Afnan Mishal distributed trophies and prizes among the leading players.
The championship concluded on a positive note, with participants and organizers reaffirming their commitment to strengthening sports diplomacy, nurturing young talent and promoting Pakistani tenpin bowling on national and international platforms.
