28TH CNS OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP TEED OFF AT KARACHI GOLF CLUB

The Opening Ceremony and Media Brief of 28th Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship, scheduled from 08 Aug 24 to 11 Aug 24, was held at the picturesque Karachi Golf Club (KGC). Commander Karachi, Rear Admiral Muhammad Saleem graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the championship. During the media brief, Patron Pakistan Navy Golf (South), Cdre Rashid Mahmood Sheikh apprised the audience on salients of championship and its conduct in various categories.The Golf Championship will be played in Professionals, Senior Professionals, Junior Professionals, Amateurs, Seniors, Veterans, Ladies Juniors and Pro Amateurs categories. Haidar Sultan of Pakistan wins First Gold Medal while Daniyal Aftab secures 4th Position in the Weightlifting event of BRICS Games being held at Kazan city of Rusia. In the third day of the BRICS Games, Daniyal Aftab of Pakistan secured 4th position in the 89 kg body weight category. Daniyal Aftab participated in the 89 kg body weight category and lifted 133 kg in the Snatch and 165 kg in the Clean & Jerk events, with a total lift of 298 Kg, which was 4 kg more than his best total at any domestic competetion. This was first appreance of Daniyal Aftab at any international event.
