Pakistan Railways has signed agreements with two companies for laying optical fiber cables. Under the agreements signed with the Chinese and Pakistani companies, Pakistan Railways will provide the route to the companies to lay the optical fiber cable. The Chinese company will be able to lay the cable from Kemari to Peshawar Cantt on ML-1, in this regard, an advance payment of 256 million rupees has been made to Pakistan Railways. According to the second agreement, the Pakistani company will be authorized to use the right-of-way from Kemari to Lodhran. In this regard, thirteen and a half crores of rupees have been paid in advance by the company to the railways.
