AHMEDABAD, 11 September 2026 (Ghufran): An aviation company has filed a Rs3 crore civil defamation suit against Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi before a Gandhinagar court, alleging that her “derogatory and reckless” social media comments describing its chartered aircraft as a “toy” and “Lego airplane” severely damaged the company’s reputation and business. Dunes Aviation, in its suit, alleged that Fatehi recorded videos inside a Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft during a Mumbai-Jaipur flight in December last year and described the aircraft as a “miniature”, “toy” and “Lego airplane” before posting the videos on her Instagram account. The company claimed that the actor’s remarks, made to her more than 4.6 crore followers, resulted in booking cancellations and caused a significant decline in its commercial operations.
According to the suit, filed in April this year, Fatehi’s statements were “reckless, irresponsible” and made without technical knowledge, verification or factual basis, causing serious reputational damage, loss of goodwill and adverse commercial impact. Dunes Aviation said its bookings had declined by 15 to 20 per cent, while cancellations had increased following the actor’s comments. The company maintained that the aircraft was standard and appropriately sized for the journey undertaken by Fatehi and was fully certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), airworthy and legally operated under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP). Apart from seeking Rs3 crore in damages, the company has also asked the court to order the immediate removal of all social media content containing the alleged statements or references to the aircraft and to direct the actor to issue a public clarification. Senior Civil Judge R. Agarwal is scheduled to hear the matter on September 25.
