America and Pakistan want to build a stable relationship based on common concerns and interests

The first pledge indicates US willingness to help Pakistan prevent terrorist attacks from Afghanistan, while the second pledge of a $200 million fund to promote gender equality furthers US involvement in social welfare. As the year 2022 draws to a close, one thing is clear that the US and Pakistan are not looking to restore the all-round relationship that existed between the two countries during the Cold War, Russia’s invasion of Afghanistan and the war on terrorism.

Instead, the two countries are seeking to build a stable relationship based on common concerns and interests, the US State Department also pointed out in a recent news briefing. Spokesperson of the Department of State, Ned Price, said that the government of Pakistan is a partner of the United States when it comes to common concerns such as the presence of terrorist groups inside Afghanistan, terrorist groups active on the Pakistan-Afghan border. In between we will be ready to help.
