At the Finance Division today, Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Jiang Zaidong paid a visit to Minister of Finance and Revenue Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb to talk about important issues relating to bilateral ties and economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
China’s Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Jiang Zaidong, congratulated Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb on his appointment as Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue and expressed optimism for the continued development of the two nations’ economic relations.

Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Finance and Revenue, thanked the Chinese government for their tremendous assistance to Pakistan in a number of areas, noting in particular the refinancing of commercial loans and the roll-over of SAFE deposits, both of which have made a substantial contribution to the country’s economic stability. He went on to underline how crucial the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is to Pakistan’s overall economic recovery and growth plan.
The parties committed to expanding their cooperation in a number of areas, including as renewable energy, mining and mineral resources, industrial zones, and agriculture. The topic of the second phase of CPEC, which would concentrate on monetizing the profits from the first phase, was discussed.

As the meeting came to an end, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together to strengthen and expand their economic ties, which reflects the great friendship and collaboration that already exist between China and Pakistan.
