Islamabad, 29 October, 2026 (Ghufran): The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected the Afghan Taliban’s claims regarding a firing incident along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, describing them as false, fabricated and misleading. According to the ministry’s fact-check, the Afghan Taliban’s latest attempt to create a false narrative about the Angoor Adda border incident reflects the regime’s deceptive conduct. The ministry stated that Afghan Taliban forces initiated unprovoked firing and launched mortar shells at unarmed civilians inside Pakistani territory, adding that the incident was part of a broader pattern linked to India and its proxy elements. According to the ministry, Pakistani security forces responded swiftly and effectively, destroying seven Afghan Taliban posts and inflicting heavy casualties and material losses on Taliban forces. The ministry also dismissed statements issued by Taliban regime spokespersons, saying they did not reflect the facts on the ground. It further alleged that the Taliban authorities were using misleading claims to deceive their own population. The ministry reiterated its rejection of the Afghan Taliban’s account, maintaining that its version was based on the facts presented in its official fact-check.
