Islamabad, 26 October, 2026 (Ghufran): Pakistan on Monday strongly condemned the “reprehensible” Houthi ballistic missile attacks carried out on October 24 targeting the Makkah and Madinah regions of Saudi Arabia, including areas in the vicinity of the holy sites, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. In a statement, the Foreign Office described the attacks as a grave violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, expressing concern over the blatant disregard for the sanctity of Islam’s holiest sites and the safety of civilians. The statement noted that Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence had issued alerts regarding potential danger in Taif, Yanbu, Makkah and Jeddah, while a Saudi-led coalition reported intercepting two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis towards Taif and Yanbu. Pakistan reiterated its unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its firm commitment to the Makkah alliance. The Foreign Office further underscored Islamabad’s steadfast support for Saudi Arabia’s security, stability and defence, including the protection of the two holy mosques against any external aggression or threat. Pakistan also commended the vigilance and efficiency of Saudi air defence forces in countering the attacks.
