Islamabad, 11 October, 2026 (Ghufran): President Asif Ali Zardari met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi at the President’s Office and received a briefing on the overall security situation and the deteriorating law and order situation in the province. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended the meeting, during which participants discussed the prevailing security situation in KP and held consultations on constitutional and legal matters related to the province. Speaking informally to reporters after the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said there was no room left to avoid imposing an emergency in the province, adding that every possible effort had been made to prevent the situation from reaching this stage. Naqvi also highlighted his efforts to address the crisis, saying Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Barrister Gohar could be asked about the measures he had taken to avert such a situation. The meeting took place amid growing concerns over law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with constitutional and legal options also under consideration.
