China and Pakistan to Hold Joint Military Exercise in Xinjiang

BEIJING, 10 October, 2026 (Nosheen): China and Pakistan will conduct a joint military exercise, “Karakoram-2026,” in the Korla region of China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in mid-to-late October, according to Chinese Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Colonel Chen Xi. The exercise will focus on joint counterterrorism operations in high-altitude areas and include training in drone operations, search-and-target shooting, long-range sniping, joint command and coordinated military operations. Colonel Chen said the exercise would strengthen military exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and enhance their ability to jointly respond to terrorist threats. He added that the training marks the first joint army exercise of its kind between China and Pakistan.
