
Jamshoro ,8 October 2026 ( Nosheen) :The Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) organized a youth awareness session at the Institute of Commerce & Management, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, to highlight the importance of Front-of-Pack Warning Labels (FOPWLs) in preventing diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, obesity and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).Around 120 students, faculty members and youth advocates attended the session. Mr. Sana Ullah Ghumman, General Secretary PANAH, emphasized that clear warning labels on packaged foods high in sugar, salt and unhealthy fats can help consumers, particularly young people, make healthier food choices.He urged students to become health advocates and support evidence-based policies to promote healthier food environments and prevent NCDs.Prof. Muhammad Hafeez Abro appreciated PANAH’s public health advocacy, while Prof. Dr. Hakim Ali Mahesar, Director of the Institute, reaffirmed the university’s cooperation in promoting health awareness among young people.The session was part of PANAH’s nationwide university-based campaign to raise awareness about unhealthy diets and promote the implementation of Front-of-Pack Warning Labels to protect public health and future generations.
