Islamabad, 7 October, 2026 (Ghufran): Pakistan has successfully conducted the test launch of the indigenously developed extended version of the Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday. According to the military’s media wing, the missile is equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigation systems and is capable of engaging targets at extended ranges with high precision and lethality. The ISPR said the test also validated additional technical parameters of various subsystems incorporated to improve accuracy and enhance survivability. The launch was witnessed by senior officers of the Pakistan Army along with scientists and engineers from the developing agency. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the services chiefs congratulated the successful test launch of the extended-range Fatah-4. They appreciated the technical expertise, dedication and commitment of all those who contributed to achieving the milestone. The latest test follows the successful training launch of the Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile conducted in May this year. Earlier, the Army Rocket Force Command had also conducted a successful training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system. The ISPR had said the launch was witnessed by senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Rocket Force Command and Pakistan Army, as well as scientists and engineers from strategic organisations. The Pakistan Navy also previously carried out a successful live firing of the Taimoor air-launched cruise missile, an indigenous anti-ship weapon system, demonstrating its capability to detect, target and engage sea-based threats at extended ranges.
