QUETTA, 27 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Security forces have killed more than 71 terrorists in counter-terrorism operations across different areas of Balochistan over the past 96 hours, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The military’s media wing said 33 terrorists were killed during an operation in the Shaban area of Quetta, while 23 others were killed during intensified operations over the preceding 72 hours. Security forces also cleared several terrorist hideouts and recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operations, while areas in Nushki and Mand were also cleared, according to ISPR. The military said the operations were being conducted against groups it described as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan and that the counter-terrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative would continue. President Asif Ali Zardari commended the security forces for the operations and the reported elimination of more than 71 terrorists in Balochistan. He also praised the clearance of terrorist hideouts and recovery of weapons and ammunition, saying the government and security forces would continue efforts against terrorism.
